Mario
and Julia Soldato began what seemed like a bold
venture for the early 1960s:
opening a restaurant featuring authentic
Italian food in what had been a mere corn field.
But, with hard work and a dream they grew more
than just a business; they grew a family, a reputation
and eventually a true local landmark. Now, almost
5 decades later Mario and Julia's children (Kathy,
Diane & Mickey) have kept the family business
and vision alive by offering amazing food, comfortable
atmosphere and friendly service with the same
passion and commitment to quality that their parents
began in 1964.
Executive Chef Mickey
Soldato, who continued his life
long family culinary teachings with study at the
CIA, creates seasonally flavored menus of Italian
inspired regional cuisine using the freshest and
highest quality local grown and purchased ingredients.
From his creative daily specials, to the tried
and true customer favorites, to the decadent homemade
popovers & desserts there is no doubt as to
why Mario's has stood the test of time: a dedication
to excellence that is a family tradition.
“When
I talked with some of the family, it was clear
that part of what makes the place tick is that
it is a labor of love.” ..... “There
is a sense of dedication and collaboration to
it all that comes out in the genial atmosphere,
the choice of local purveyors, the attention to
detail.” - The Berkshire Eagle
